This 16 chapter, 70 hour course covers the fundamentals of the Linux operating system and command line. The goal of this course is to provide academic institutions and students a “starting place” for learning the Linux operating system. Students who complete this course should understand Linux as an operating system, basic open source concepts, how Linux is used and the basics of the Linux command line.
This course implements a "practice as you read" approach to learning. Each learner has hands-on access to a Linux virtual machine to practice, explore and trial Linux command line concepts. Starting with Chapter Four, the learner is provided prescriptive step-by-step labs. These labs provide a learning environment where students interact with the Linux operating system and build on their skills and knowledge as they progress through the course.
Este curso de 16 capítulos y 70 horas cubre los conocimientos fundamentales de Sistema Operativo Linux y su línea de comandos. El objetivo de este curso es proveer a instituciones académicas y a estudiantes el “sitio de inicio” para aprender el Sistema Operativo Linux. Los estudiantes que completen este curso deberían poder entender Linux como un sistema operativo, conceptos básicos de fuente abierta, como usar Linux y los conocimientos básicos de la línea de comando de Linux.
Este curso implementa un enfoque de aprendizaje conocido como “practica mientras lees”. Cada estudiante tiene acceso a una máquina virtual de Linux para practicar, explorar y experimentar con los conceptos de la línea de comando de Linux. Comenzando con el capítulo cuatro, el estudiante será provisto de laboratorios paso a paso. Estos laboratorios proveen un ambiente de aprendizaje donde los estudiantes pueden interactuar con el sistema operativo Linux y crear sobre sus habilidades y conocimientos mientras progresan a través del curso.
